Anonymous comments are known to bring out the worst in people. If you are scrolling TikTok, Instagram, or Reddit, you shouldn't read the comments thoroughly and take them to heart. People will say awful things not because they believe them but to get a rise from their fellow commenters. Some trolls believe what they're saying, using hyperbolic language to communicate it and get people talking, but just because they use rhetoric effectively doesn't mean they are worth your energy.
It's easy to dismiss anonymous trolls, but what about the ones who are parts of your family? This is a mere theory, but I think that texting inspires a similar effect that commenting does. It's unbelievably easy to type something up and send it without ever saying it out loud and, in turn, regret your words, whether you said them or not. Some of these parenting texts should have been left in the drafts.
