We can all be a little extreme about food. There was a time in my life when I ate six packs of mochi ice cream for breakfast every morning, which certainly wasn't setting me up for success. For some people who are definitely not me, being overly controlling about food is their vice, spending every waking hour with calories and weight loss diets dancing around in their heads out of a deeply rooted fear of becoming fat. Neither of these modes of living is healthy, and it would benefit most people to eat everything from junk food to blueberry juice in moderation, but unfortunately, we humans cannot be programmed to live a perfectly balanced life. So many of us are like the grandma that this story is about, who has been eating junk food for decades against her self-interests and is unable to stop despite how harmful it is to her.
