We did a lot of things "for the last time" without even realizing it. We had our last visit to Blockbuster, picked our last movie, and it wasn't some big occasion—we just stopped going after that. We had our last LAN party with friends without knowing it at the time (that one really hurts). We also ate and drank things for the last time without realizing they'd disappear from store shelves, and we rode our bikes to our friends' houses for the last time without giving it a second thought.
We leave things behind, not with a grand gesture, but simply by moving on with our lives. Even the things we take for granted today will, at some point, be done for the last time, and we'll be just as oblivious as we were in the past. So take a moment to appreciate the little things—they may never come back again.
