We all get a little weird and crazy about our pets; that's part of what you sign up for when you devote a significant portion of your time, energy, and financial resources to a fluffy little ball of chaos living with you in your home. I'd argue that, in fact, the entire concept is a little bit crazy, and if you weren't already when you decided to get a furry friend, I promise you that you will soon be driven so. Still, no matter how much we consider our pets members of our families, even the most pet-obsessed among us will need to stop and acknowledge that there are points where we can't expect others to treat them like human beings. And there's definitely a line somewhere there before you reach the point of insisting that your girlfriend or boyfriend contribute a portion of their money, even a sudden unexpected windfall of cash, to a "trust fund" for your pet. Especially when doing so would mean that you're keeping two-thirds of their winnings that they were gracious enough to share with you in the first place.
That was the situation that this woman found herself facing when her boyfriend of two years began insisting that she give him an additional percentage of the cut that she had already willingly offered him so that he could set up a trust fund for his dog, resorting to emotional manipulation and extortion in order to get her to fold and give him the cash.
