When it comes to neighbor disputes, there's always drama. And that only gets exasperated when there's a cat involved. Because neighbors are drama, and cats are chaos, and it just leads to some funny situations. And there's always some moral dilemma going on. It's not always clear who is right and who is wrong. Like when your kids are allergic to cats, should you ask your neighbor to get rid of the cat? Or when your neighbor's cat impregnates your cat… should they pay child support? Or when you have a chaotic cat… should you leave a note warning your neighbors about your cat?
There's always a question of morals in these situations, of priorities. But not here. Not in this situation. And we think that classifying what happened here as "theft" would be unfair. This was not a theft of a cat. This was a rescue that happened just in time.

Is is really theft is it's the right thing? We don't think so. This isn't theft, this is rescuing, and the only sad thing about this whole situation is that the Humane Society will be unable to conduct an investigation into these neglectful people.
This is clearly just a kitty who wants some love and affection, especially after being treated so terribly by his previous owners. We are just thankful that you noticed the kitty and did the right thing by "stealing" him and giving him a second chance at life with decent human beings.
