This guy already was in hot water for repeatedly being late when it came to paying his team. Any sensible boss knows that you never want to mess with someone's paycheck. That's the easiest way to turn your employees against you. On top of that, he had the audacity to make a passing remark to this Redditor that his output was not justifying his salary. This dude, who really seems to be a walking HR problem at this point, is lucky his employees aren't coming back with comments about his managerial style and lack of timely payments. It doesn't seem like his output is justifying his position as their boss.
After a period of looking for other work on the side, the original poster (OP) finally found a better opportunity and was preparing to give his two weeks' notice when his boss sent a series of even more unprofessional messages. Let's just say those texts made OP reconsider staying for a second longer, let alone two weeks.
