There is a right way to ask people for favors, and a wrong way, and there is absolutely no reason for you to go the wrong way. If you want the favor you're asking to actually get done, then the only way to go is the right way, which is really not that hard of a concept to comprehend.
Take the neighbors in this Reddit story as an example. OP (original poster) rented a dumpster after they got work done in their house, meaning they paid for a large container to throw away all the trash they had from their renovations. One morning, OP gets a message from their neighbor, asking if she could throw some of her own trash in their dumpster. OP told her that she probably could, but she had to wait until they were done to make sure there was space left for it.
Now here is where the neighbor could go either way – The right way would be to do as OP said and wait, then peacefully dump her trash in their dumpster and be done with it. The wrong way would be to ignore what OP said and go ahead and dump it on her own time and terms. Now guess which way the entitled neighbor chose…
