Deceitful boss breaks promise to comp $100 for staff breakfast, faces payback from disgruntled employee: 'You should've gotten it in writing'

There are lots of ways in which bosses can be terrible to work for, but some of the worst is when they try to cheat you out of your hard-earned cash. Many workplaces encourage cognitive dissonance about the fact that most of those that they employ are primarily there for the money, and even worse, they think you deserve to take on extra expense just so the books look a little more balanced.

This is something that one contractor appeared to experience when he ended up doing a job in a remote area. Buying multiple rounds of breakfast tacos for the team he was working with, his boss promised over the phone to reimburse him the $100 cost. However, he eventually changed his tune because there had been no written agreement made for this. It's no surprise that when the contractor saw a golden opportunity for revenge, he took it.
