Lunch is the most elusive meal. Breakfast I understand. You're supposed to eat it whenever you first get hungry in the morning. There are tried and true breakfast foods, breakfast places, and breakfast culture. There is no culture to lunch. First of all, when am I supposed to eat it? What if I eat breakfast late, does that count as lunch? And if I overdo it, where does that leave dinner? Lunch is the middle child of meals: often overlooked, always trying to keep the peace. My dream is to identify the perfect lunch that I can eat every day. It has to be the right combination of filling but not sleep-inducing, easily accessible, and cheap. That's how you arrive at the sandwich, I suppose.
But no matter how you slice it, when the need for lunch strikes, you can't ignore it. So while you're hunching in the break room scarfing down your baloney and cheese, give these memes a scroll. They know your struggle.
