Senior cats don't get enough love. That is the conclusion that we have come to after writing for ICHC for such a long time. They don't get nearly as much appreciation as they deserve, even though senior cats make great pets! They really do. You don't need an itty bitty energetic kitty to enjoy having a feline in your home. Senior cats are affectionate, senior cats appreciate all the little things you do, they have experience, they've been through a lot, and that means that they understand better what is good and what is bad, and they can appreciate the good more.
And this senior cat has been through particularly a lot. And after being adopted - no, after being saved by this amazing person - you can tell for a fact that this cat knows what she's got and loves her human for it.

"In a bad way" is an understatement if the poor thing had to be in intensive care for weeks on end. And "elderly" might be an understatement as well. Not many cats live to be 17, let alone survive so much at that age and continue to thrive.
All that we want to say her, to this person, is thank you. Very few people adopt senior cats, as is well-known in the cat world. Most go for itty bitty kitties. Let alone for a sick senior cat who needs so much love and care. You are an ameowzing person, and we wish you and this lovely kitty as many happy years together as pawssible.
