Twitter is where all the cool kids are. And by cool kids, I mean an unsettling mix of alt comedians, politicians, bots, mommy bloggers, and people who paid for a blue check mark. Only a handful of my friends are still on Twitter, and we go back and forth being the only people to like each other's tweets. It's a beautiful ecosystem that no one can disrupt. But it begs the question, why do we tweet? Do we just think our thoughts are so important that we need to share them with strangers? Is it purely shouting into the void for the sake of expression itself?
No, I harbor the feeling that everyone secretly thinks the next tweet they send is going to be the one that goes viral. We all think, even if it's subconsciously, that the next one is going to be a banger. These ones… are actually bangers.
