It should be common knowledge these days that teachers are disgustingly under-appreciated (and underpaid!). Karen moms and dads think they have complete control over their kids' professional educators and always abuse that power. The government doesn't think they deserve a top-notch salary. And kids are getting more and more of a handful (in good and bad ways) with every new generation. It's not only physically demanding, but also emotionally. Teachers really have to be prepared for it all. Even some of the most passionate and amazing educators are deciding to leave teaching and pursue a different career. Maybe one that isn't so mentally taxing (and pays better).
One "award-winning" professional educator finally called it quits after a decade and is feeling guilty. His mental health had suffered far too much and needed to make a big change. Since quitting, he's felt tremendously better, which also makes him feel guilty. However, many other teachers are coming to his aid online to support his decision and applaud his bravery.
