There's not a ton that can prepare you for being a parent. Maybe you've tried your hand at babysitting, or maybe you've been in charge of younger cousins or siblings for stretches of time. Heck, maybe you're a dog parent. While all of that is pseudo-training for having real children, it doesn't come close to the real thing. Because it never ends. When you babysit, you get to go home at the end of the night, count your cash, and rest easy knowing you're not responsible for them anymore.
When you're a parent, you're a parent 24/7, even when they're in the care of a babysitter. Because if, heaven forbid, something happens to them- it's all on you. But that's sort of the whole gig you sign up for when you become a parent. Someone has to do it, or else the whole human race goes extinct. And we wouldn't have parenting tweets. What kind of world would that be?
