If you cannot trust yourself with expensive products, do not make it someone else's issue once you misplace them.
You would think that this type of logic would be understood by all, right? Alas, here we are. An individual's glaring incompetence often turns into anger and blame which is then placed on other uninvolved individuals. Owning up to one's own gaffes is a price that is too high to pay for entitled people who can't stand to admit they're wrong.
Like the not-so-nice lady in this story, for example. The original poster (OP) of this story is a school administrator who was called outside by another teacher during school pick-up. OP was told that a mother was screaming about how her iPad was stolen from her car. Seems awful. The lady was yelling at the faculty and demanding camera footage be released to her instantly, on top of some impolite comments such as, "[I] knew this school was horrible and full of thieves."
Faculty came to find out that the lady did not park her car in the school parking lot (therefore removing all responsibility from the school), left her car door unlocked, and left the device (which has a bright pink case) on her seat. She just gets even more angry when the staff tell her that their cameras and CCTV footage will not do her any favors given her car's distance from the school lot.
