When you're disrespected, heartbroken, or wronged, your family should take your side. It's what family is for. You don't have to be close, but basic respect should come to your family first. 

In this Reddit thread, it's shocking to read the lack of support and respect this man is going through in regard to his family. He's asking for the basics of what a family should provide. After his heart was broken by his cheating ex, they take her side when she's invited to his brother's wedding. He doesn't even refuse to come, he just doesn't want to pay for the wedding anymore. His family hounds him down, demanding regale behavior in the context of his heartbreak and betrayal from a past love. In my opinion, there's nothing worse than a family who would take the side of your heartbreaker.
