31 Thrilling Behind the Scenes Photos From Various Horror Movies

I've always been a big fan of horror movies. Ever since I was a kid, I used to secretly watch films that were way too scary for my age group. Did they give me nightmares? Yes, but it was worth it! What I loved most about horror movies was trying to figure out how they were made. How did they make Chucky look so alive when he was obviously a puppet? How did they make Jason's knife cut a dude's arm off? What did they use to make all that blood? I wanted to know.

Then I discovered Fangoria magazine, and all my questions were answered. I remember flipping through the pages of different issues, looking at all the behind-the-scenes photos and learning the tricks of the trade. But I think what I got most out of those photos was the realization that making horror movies is just a lot of fun. Everyone seemed so happy on those sets. You could tell this wasn't work for them—it was their passion.
