No parent is a saint, but being deeply flawed doesn't mean you're an inherently horrible person or a bad parent. This story follows a father who screwed up big time. He cheated on his wife with his coworker, and when his wife found their suggestive texts on his phone, the marriage was not only over but also done. The problem at hand is with the custody of their younger 14-year-old son. After her split with her husband, this mom was extremely homophobic towards her son, saying that he was brainwashed into being gay and claiming that her pastor could fix him. His dad, on the other hand, allowed his son to stay at his apartment and denounced the homophobic rhetoric his ex espoused. The son wants to stay with his dad, but he feels guilty about leaving his mom after what his dad did to her. It's a situation that's beyond messy.
