It's easy to criticize someone slightly older or younger than you for their technological quirks. I find it funny when millennials claim they learned coding in middle school because they changed their Tumblr themes with HTML. To me, that's just a wee bit overselling their skills. On the other hand, a millennial could easily criticize me for paying $13 monthly for the Criterion Channel instead of torrenting movies because I'm afraid of getting an inoperable computer virus. We've all got our strengths and weaknesses regarding technology literacy, and I would never deny a Gen Alpha member their Roblox skills.
We use our phones for things we don't use our computers for, and vice versa. This might be a matter of habit or thinking it's a little weird to scroll through TikTok on a desktop. A millennial recently went viral for claiming Gen Z thinks it's silly not to make large purchases on your phone, inspiring some fierce debate.
