It's not easy being a puppy out in the wild on your own, but it happens often. What is the best thing you can do for these lost puppers? Rescue them, of course! You can either take them into your own care or take them to a shelter. Either way, puppies and dogs of any age are not meant to be left alone in the wild. Unless you're a lone wolf, I guess, but that's a wolf, not a dog. Anyway, a couple recently crossed paths with a lone pupper and immediately decided to take him in.
They were simply on their way to the dump to drop off some trash when the saw a fluffy little thing wiggling around in the debris. They went right up to him and scooped him up into their arms. They instantly fell in love and decided to be his new "proper home." They named him Ocikomsis, the Cree word for raccoon, and got him all his shots and proper care and he is now part of their family. After a little digging around, they found out that his mom and litter mates were all found at that dump and rescued by a shelter, but he was the last puppy left and kept eluding the rescuers. However, he walked right up to his new family when they came, so, it's like Ocik was waiting for them. A true soul puppy for this family. One commenter said, "Imagine only knowing garbage and sharp rocks your whole life and then being held by something so warm and soft and bundled in comfort while the sun warms you and someone scratches your head."
