'You're not responsible for taking care of your father's stepkids': Dad forces 16-year-old son to make food for his step siblings on days he's with his mom, balks when he refuses

Custody is not always a simple arrangement. Sure, you might have agreed to certain days with a certain parent, but kids have different needs. They might have extracurricular activities they have to attend, social obligations, and different desires for where they want to spend the night that particular night. The schedule can become more nebulous and ever-changing, which can present problems for parents trying to work it out between themselves. 

But it's also a good opportunity for kids to learn to stand up for themselves and ask for what they need.  It can be a hard thing to do, especially with your parents. But that's exactly what one kid had to do in the face of some pretty bizarre requests from his dad. You can't always get what you want, and sometimes your kid knows better than you do, and commenters were quick to swoop in and back him up. Read on for the story.
