Customer service is aggravating, to say the least, and I'm sure the folks in customer service can agree. You never know what you're walking into as a mixed bag of people is always expected when you're in a customer-facing role.
When you throw entitled Karens and unwavering boomers into the mix, disaster might be just what you get. Service workers don't get enough credit, so quick applause for those who face every customer with a smile (and save the screaming for later).
The employee in this story works at a telecommunications company and deals with bills and payments. A boomer and his wife come into the establishment to inquire about their phone bill and claim that they have never paid that much before. After doing a quick scan of the bill, the employee states that the wife has signed a new contract which activated a special deal for a $50 credit toward their first few bills under the new contract. After that credit ran out, they were being charged for the amount they always had prior to the new contract. The boomer did not want to hear it, constantly interrupting the employee with a mixture of loud yelling and tasteless obscenities. Of course, he says he'll be taking his business elsewhere. Commenters are wondering if the boomer ever ended his contract with the company he vowed to leave. Maybe, maybe not…
