To Save $1.55, Extreme Couponing Woman Holds up the Line at the Grocery Store for 20 Minutes, Making a Cashier Bend Over Backward to Pinch a Few Pennies

This quick grocery run turned into an entire ordeal when an entitled boomer lady decided to hold up the whole store for a $1.55 discount. 

With inflation punching us all in the face, it's become painfully clear that $1 really just isn't what it used to be. You always hear the 'back in my day' folks clamoring for the glory days of penny candy, but truthfully, back when we were young, a dollar actually went a long way. Juxtaposingly, in 2024, I'm not sure there's any single item at the grocery store you can buy for less than a dollar–a lime, maybe? A dollar on its own isn't worth much, and it's certainly not worth most people's valuable time.

Because of that, if it came down to saving a dollar in groceries versus saving 30 minutes, most of us would consider our time far more precious–but not this lady. The Redditor who reported this originally posted their story online to vent, fuming over an experience they recently had at the store. 

After deciding they needed to do a quick grocery run, the shopper dashed into the store, scooped up their items, and rushed into line to check out. However, they got stuck behind an entitled extreme couponer who was willing to throw away everyone's afternoon just to pinch a few pennies, insisting on making the poor cashier bend over backward to save $1.55. Frankly, if you asked everyone in line behind you, they'd probably all offer you a dollar from their wallet just to get a move on.
