Welcome, fans of the strange and unusual. Now, I know a lot of us have rather strong feelings towards AI art. No one wants it to take over the jobs of actual talented artists who work hard to hone their craft. Certainly not many are excited at the prospect of watching a fully AI-generated animated film, although that is probably an inevitability. However, the popularity of such films would probably not satisfy the masses. We yearn for human connection, for heartfelt stories that AI art will likely never be able to imitate fully. There is a place for AI generated images, though. It is a great tool for story boarding, brainstorming, and garnering inspiration and ideas.
Just like digital art had a lot of push-back at its inception from traditionalists who did not see the value in vectors and pixels, AI's value as a tool for artists is being reduced and denied by those afraid of this new resource. At the very least, it cannot be denied that there are some funky and imaginative images being produced by those who are able to finesse Dall-E and Midjourney with the perfect prompts. Enjoy this collection of trippy 90s anime images that look like a nightmare born from a fever dream after binge-watching Berserk and Sailor Moon.
