The Holy Grail of character backstories just occurred to you. After all these years of playing D&D with your friends in your buddy's basement, a stroke of genius has come over your party. Behold, fellow barbarians, changelings, and astral elves, for the most flawless character ever is about to join your troupe. This time, for real!
All of us have struggled with the creation of the ideal game setup. With infinite possibilities as far as race, alignment, dexterity, constitution, and charisma, how is a role-playing gamer supposed to make the right call? For the inspired folks, they have a lightning bolt flung down from the heavens in the elven woods, striking their cerebral cortex to generate the most uniquely idyllic character. But for others–for most of us–we have to slog through years and years of gameplay to hone in on our perfect characteristics.
We need to siege at least 10 fortified dwarf castles, raid nearby villages, and grab a late-night pint with some mysterious warg in the tavern before ever coming up with a good name for our character. Alas, the constant struggle of tweaks and minute improvements lands in our laps once again. At least next week, we can update our guy again, taking tiny steps towards Dungeons and Dragons nirvana and an exemplary play-card.
