Every person struggles with self-fulfillment when it comes to their jobs. We all want to feel fulfilled with our jobs, we all want to have a purpose in life, and to feel like we truly enjoy what we do on a daily basis. But more often than not, it is impossible to both feel fulfilled and get to have sufficient time off of work, when you enjoy your own privacy.
So if you were given the choice to get paid for your job, but do no work whatsoever, would you accept? Would you be willing to give up on the purpose of your worklife, and do nothing while you still get the money for it?
For many people, this sounds like the dream scenario, which means that the employee in this Reddit story is living the dream. OP (original poster) works from home, but in reality, they don't really work at all. Their manager insists that every task OP and their team want to undertake has to be approved by the manager, but said manager refuses to approve them. This led to OP's team having nothing to do, but it seems like they are fine with getting paid while doing no work at all.
