This year, I turned 30. Call me a millennizoomer or a zillennial all you want, but reaching another decade milestone put into perspective a few key facts about aging. Your back starts to hurt all the time, you stop prioritizing 'cute' clothes over functional, comfortable ensembles, and (although you love going to shows) concerts that start after 9 PM make you question everything.
It's not just the aging body that hinders you from doing things, mostly it's your maturing mind and changing priorities. I used to prioritize hanging out with friends and slamming drinks before going out, but now I prioritize my comfortable mattress at home and my ergonomic shoe support. Every one of us will have an 'I'm too old for this' moment at some point in our lives and, for your sake, I hope yours doesn't happen while you're waiting in a 45-minute line to pay $18 for a light beer at a music festival. Aging generations are not exactly thrilled about walking the length of 10 football fields through a desert to see 15 different artists in one weekend–all while sleeping on the floor in a tent next to a guy who claims he can align your chakras with mushroom powder, a hoolah hoop, and quick peek down your shirt.
So keep scrolling, fellow fogey, and enjoy the moment other elders realized they're getting too old for this ~ish~.
