The rewards of parenting can be simple in deed but huge in impact, like watching your kid make a friend in the playground. Or seeing them paint a picture and give it to you to hang on the fridge. Or hearing from their teachers that they helped another student with a difficult problem. These are the good, wholesome rewards.
But what about when you hear them correctly use a swear word for the first time? Concerning, maybe, but rewarding all the same. Or watching them fall off their scooter and get back on. A show of resilience. Or watching them play out Kardashians-level drama with their dolls. A creative mind at work. Seeing your kids develop a personality unto themselves is the best part of being a parent. That, and getting to watch Bluey. Oh and to look at these parenting tweets and be able to relate hard. That's pretty nice too.
