Google Maps is probably my favorite piece of technology that's ever been invented. I would be completely helpless without it, as someone with a minimal innate sense of direction. I need Google Maps in my own neighborhood, on my own block. It's also how I look for things around me that I might need, like a sandwich or a new pair of socks. I'll just type that into the Google Map search bar and let the algorithm do its work. I've found some wonderfully hidden gems this way that I wouldn't have encountered otherwise. I'm also an avid Geoguessr player, the game that is all about using Google Maps to its most ridiculous ends.
So all to say, I live in debt to the great application. I can also appreciate when someone uses it for goofs and gags. I love a good street view troll or an accidentally hilarious trick of the lens. Good thing this list is full of them.
