It's a stereotype of Gen Z that we hate to answer the phone. We will text until we're blue in the… thumbs, but the minute we hear our ringtone we're running for the hills. I'm definitely a perpetrator of this stereotype. Answering the phone sends a rush of anxiety through me that's parallel to being chased through the forest by a wild animal. I'll do it, of course, because I'm an adult and sometimes you need to call and ask the movie theater if there are any more tickets to the 8:30 showing of Twisters because you can't figure it out online. I'll do it, but I don't want to be doing it.
Maybe it's because I don't know how to hang up, I always wait for the other person. It feels so inconsiderate to hang up. Okay, I understand why other generations get frustrated with us. At least we have good memes. No phone call needed.
