Karen at KFC S This happened about 30 minutes ago. I go to KFC and as I'm pulling up, I see that the drive-thru line is insanely long (it's a single lane drive-thru). Instead of bothering with it, I park and go inside. There's one guy standing back, waiting for his food, but I can walk right to the till. It takes a minute or so for a cashier to come take my order, which was ridiculously simple (large popcorn chicken and a large macaroni salad). As she's

taking my order, a woman in a pickup truck at the drive-thru window starts honking her horn like crazy and yelling: "HELLO!!! Where the is my food?!? HELLO!!! I've been waiting 20 MINUTES!!!” (She punctures each sentence with more car honks). "I WANT TO SPEAK TO THE MANAGER! It's been 20 minutes, you !" Anyway, my cashier calls for the manager, and then she starts to put together my order (grab the macaroni salad from the fridge, scoop popcorn chicken in a bucket, bag it with a couple sauces).

As she's bringing me my bag, drive-thru Karen can see my food and starts flipping out even more: "Oh NO! I've been waiting 20 minutes and she just got here! Give me my food!!! She should have to wait until my order is ready! I was here first!” (Honking her horn incessantly). I have no idea what she ordered, but I'm supposed to wait for Karen's food before I can get my own? When my stuff is ready? Manager was coming but as I grabbed my bag, I made sure to give Karen a cheerful wave on my way out

Petentro 4d ago • Many many moons ago I worked at a KFC. It takes like 17 minutes to cook a rack of chicken and that doesn't include the prep time. Popcorn chicken came precooked and took like 2 minutes. This means that a 20 minute wait isn't an uncommon needs to get over it occurrence. 471 Reply

eveningschades Before . 4d ago vid and we all got sent home to work, there was a KFC less than 3 minutes drive away from our building. About once a week, about 10-12 of us would order from there. We were asked to please call our order in at least 30 minutes prior to our arrival and it would be ready. Another woman and I normally went to pick it up because we had to get our nicotine fix. If there was a line for the drive through, we parked and went inside. It was never a hassle and the employees

    • Flashy_Watercress398 4d ago In recent months, I've been driving my boomer mom around for medical stuff. Because of her illness and treatment, her food choices have been a little eccentric, but I'll get her anything she thinks she can eat. One day, she wanted a popular chain's fish sandwich, extra tartar sauce, no cheese. Cool, drive-thru here we come. After I paid and received her drink, I was asked to pull forward. No worries, right?

Mama was livid. "I never pull forward! I ordered first, I should get my food first!" Ma, they've dropped a fresh portion for you. They have plenty of beef patties cooked already, but yours has to cook. Why should the guy on his lunch break wait for his burger behind us, when your food will take the same amount of time regardless of when he ordered? "It's the principle of the matter!"

Okay, so your principles include making sure that McEmployees and random strangers on their lunch breaks ought to treat you like the queen of the drive through? "No! But I was here first!" Mama, hush. I'm pulling forward. (She burned her mouth on the piping hot sandwich that the sweet young girl brought to me 40 seconds after I pulled forward.) ↑ 87 87 Reply

mcflame13 • 4d ago If I was the manager. After waiting 5 minutes. I would have told the Karen to move to an available parking spot on this side of the store and someone will be out with her food when it is ready. If she refused to move. I would have given her 2 more minutes before I would have called the cops to get her to move. 18 Reply

"I want two eight-piece buckets but they've got to be all legs in one and all in the other. What the is an upcharge? Anyway, I want the mashed. potatoes on top of the gravy, not under it. This way I'm sure you're not cheating me on them taters! And make sure those ketchup packets are the ones that open up easy -- I ain't losing another tooth trying to get them open! Oh, and give me a small Diet Coke." + 9 ↓ Reply

Does she... does she not understand the concept of one thing needing to be made fresh not meaning every product in the place is on hold? ↑ 3 3 ↓ Reply

Opiatelife 2d ago Customers who get upset when someone else gets their food first are unreasonable beyond contempt. You order a large amount of food or complicated food and expect it to be the first out when others are fast? Kick rocks. + 2 3 Reply
