Much as it upsets every control freak and type A personality, there are some things in life that we can never really plan for. For example, can't always avoid a freak accident, or know for certain that today is going to be the day that we meet our soulmate. There are far too many unknown quantities out there to approach anything with true certainty, and that's pretty scary!
One thing we can at least rely on to stay consistent in its inconsistency is the land of memes. Here, we expect to never know what's coming next, and can even actively enjoy the surprise. We can use them to practice living in the moment, even if they are just another form of escapism. In a world like this, we need entertainment for the here and now that doesn't pull any punches. If nothing else, we can rely on memes to do that.
