I am no stranger to gawking at mommy Facebook groups. I've been doing it since I was a teenager and constantly heard rumblings about the drama on the one for my town. There was more drama amongst the moms of the community than with the teenagers! When you join these groups, 90% of the posts were people asking genuine questions or trying to sell Girl Scout cookies for their daughter, but occasionally, you'd strike total gold. All of the best drama usually happens in the comments of controversial posts. One mom can post something seemingly innocuous; over a hundred comments later, it has turned into a completely different argument. It was an extremely entertaining niche internet community, and I regret the day I left my hometown's mommy Facebook group for good.
If you have similar regrets, don't fret! These parenting posts have all the drama and confusion with none of the genuine community-building!
