It's a universally agreed upon fact that working on the weekends is less than ideal. As a freelancer, I find myself constantly on call, with deadlines looming even on Saturday nights. Sure, making my own hours is better than having to wake up at 4 am to get to a job site, but no matter what, it's still a struggle to put in hours when everyone else is out enjoying their time off. Your buddies are spending their weekends out on the boat, drinking the night away at the local dive bar, or spending the weekend as a couch potato. All options sound better than working outside for a 10-hour shift on a Saturday. And let's not even get started on the heat. At least construction workers are getting in a good tan for the season and taking advantage of the personal sauna, which is the heat wave we've been experiencing this summer. But at least you're making more money than most and living student debt-free. And let's not forget the hilarious memes.
