When did everyone's lips get so big? Sure, we all love a nice full-lip look, but if your overhanging upper lip blocks out the sun when you turn sideways, you might just be suffering from lip filler blindness. Although plastic surgery can be one way to overcome insecurities, sometimes body modification backfires and makes you even more aware and insecure about the bodily features you've always hated. For one woman, a young woman who went down a path of plastic and regret, the insecurity was only banished once she overcame a few blunders.
Henriette started getting lip filler when she was a teenager.
She hated the slim look of her natural lips and originally wanted them a little bit fuller. Without a second thought–or any research–she found herself on the operating table awaiting a botched lip filler job that went totally wrong. After her first procedure, she became obsessed with inflating her lips, making them larger every few months until she was almost unrecognizable. Within a few years, she suffered from self-proclaimed ‘lip filler blindness’ that made her unaware of how comically giant her lips had become. As it turns out, plastic surgery wasn't the thing that would save Henriette from insecurity. The catalyst that finally made her more confident was realizing she was naturally beautiful all along.
Scroll onward to read the story of how a beautiful woman tackled plastic surgery addiction by bettering herself and learning to love all of her features–big or small.
