the first note was on the 2nd main door into the building which was later removed, and the note in the 2nd image was taped to apt #1's door (apartment #5 is above from #1). Robert in #1 is the building's super, but he doesn't own the building. I generally find the apartments to be very soundproof compared to other places I've lived...

Gribitz37 8 hr. ago I love the juxtaposition of "Stop leaving me notes, you're a grown up" on Hello Kitty note paper.

BuckityBuck 3 hr. ago Keroppi standing beneath the "#5" that had been angrily scratched over several times to bold it, so that there was no mistaking who had written the note, really made me laugh. I like this person.

CosmicallyF-d 9 hr. ago . What happens in your 70s that seems to make everyone's writing turn into this kind of font?

MeowandGordo 11 hr. ago This is hilarious. I love this kind of drama as long as I'm not involved. 173 Reply Share SleeveofThinMints . 6 hr. ago Right? You hope they're on your hall so you can read each note on your walk back to your apartment. It's like watching a trash tv show.

sumdumdumwonone 9 hr. ago edited 3 hr. ago It is not unreasonable to ask people to be quiet from 10 pm - 8 am

Lala_G 2 hr. ago True but quiet and "don't be awake and doing normal movements" are totally different levels. I've had shift worker upstairs neighbors and we will hear them pulling out dining chairs to sit (scraping on

the floor), rolling office chairs if they sit there, thudding when they get into bed, normal noise from them walking around as people do when awake through our thin ceilings/floors here. It's expected and they're allowed to exist in their home on their own schedule.

Ild287 51 min. ago Exactly this. Quiet hours don't mean "lights out and silent" like you're at summer camp for kids. I'm an insomniac and would go insane if I had to lie in bed motionless when I can't sleep. I am considerate- I

have rugs, consciously learned to be light on my feet, etc. All the same, I am unwilling to apologize for existing. For instance, sometimes I take a shower at 2am because it helps me finally get some rest.

I've spoken with every neighbor below me over the years and let them know to please reach out if ever I do disturb them because I get it. Every single one of them

has told me I've never bothered them... but I do think that's because they've all understood shared walls means sometimes you might be reminded there are other people around you.

Ild287 47 min. ago deeply relatable cat owner anecdote. One of mine knocked over a planter that shattered and there was dirt and shards of ceramic. Was I supposed to put up caution tape and deal with it in the morning?

I used a broom to clean up as much as I could, then used my vacuum for like 25 seconds to get the rest. No one cared because we are all grown ups in my building and understand life happens

FlatwormOk778.5 hr. ago Second note is being Quiet time between 10-8 isn't too much to ask for, no one needs to be vacuuming, rearranging furniture or playing loud music at night. If you're "not disrespectful" then why even write a note like that?

Background_Detail_20 6 hr. ago Most places have noise rules, do they not? Every apartment I've ever lived in has had similar rules. Here it's usually 11-7 though. The second note person probably just hasn't read her lease thoroughly lol

GarikLoranFace 2 hr. ago They won't call vacuuming excessive noise Reply Share Inkdrunnergirl. 2 hr. ago Renter Eh, it depends. Potentially yes if it's a disturbance to others and you can hear it outside of the unit. My city code is 50 ft during quiet and 100 feet daytime
