They say that imitation is the best form of flattery. When someone copies you, their actions could be interpreted as an unintentional compliment. They admire you so much and hold your talents, lifestyle, or work to such high esteem that they deem them worth copying. They want something that you have, so they try to take the same steps you do to achieve your results. In some scenarios, the common phrase does hold true, but it is not ironclad. In the best of cases, the 'copier' is actually just deeply influenced by someone else's ideas and ends up putting their own spin to them, creating something unique in the process. Artist, musicians, and authors usually feed off of each other in this way. 

But what if someone is actively copying your life choices? From material stuff like shampoo, perfume, and even cars, our protagonist's sister-in-law was obsessed with following in her exact footsteps. The final straw came when her SIL got pregnant immediately after her and tried to plan her baby shower around the same time, even though she wasn't due for months.
