There are people out there gifted with the power of thought. They have powerful imaginations and can produce many impressive ideas on the spot. They're the type of people that are always hunched over with their fist on their forehead, thinking up a storm until they synthesize the perfect thought or solution. Now, ideas are sort of worthless without any tangible backing. Being a simple 'idea guy' doesn't actually pay off in the real world. That's why most of these people end up being project managers, as they can direct people with the material skills to execute the idea.
Then there are people who are amazingly skilled but lack the foresight and imagination to make anything unique. They need to be told what to do and guided to be able to reach their full potential. Left to their own devices, they are likely to produce such abominations as are pictured below: duck feet watermelon tables, Adidas tracksuit tables, or taxidermy sheep tables. Terrible, awful, and bizarre ideas… yet… pretty good execution.
