I remember when Warner Bros. released the first image of Jared Leto's Joker and how people tried to make sense of it. It was definitely a different version of the famous villain, and that's usually a good thing, but pretty much everyone agreed it looked weird and that the "Damaged" tattoo on the forehead was a bit too much. Personally, I just couldn't get over the fact that his body tattoos said "Ha Ha Ha." I found that so silly. It would be as if Batman had tattoos that said "Pow," "Zap," and "Bang." It just doesn't make sense within the world.
As it turned out, the movie was very bad, the Joker was the worst part of it, and Jared Leto's reputation never actually recovered from that bizarre adaptation. However, we did get Margot Robbie's version of Harley Quinn out of this movie, which was probably the best (or at least the only good) part of that terrible movie.
