Remember gym class? I feel like everyone falls into 2 camps. Either you were a gym class beast and it was your favorite class, or you dreaded it all day and tried to shrink into oblivion every time you were asked to don a colored penny. There is no in-between. It was a polarizing space- combining rambunctious children needing to get energy out and an array of sub-par gym equipment. It still baffles me that I would change out of my school uniform every day just to run around the gym for 45 minutes and then put that same uniform over my now-sweaty body. If someone asked me to do that in the middle of my workday, I'd turn around and give them a firm smack.
But we did it, and it taught us important principles like how much a dodgeball can hurt when it's lobbed straight at your head. But now we have a regular gym. And gym memes.
