But wedding receptions are, at their core, parties hosted by the couple, and a good party needs a good host who can plan well in advance to make sure that the guests are comfortable and have a good time so they can properly and joyfully celebrate. Even the hardest of metal heads would throw in some more well-known and danceable songs for their wedding guests if they are thoughtful hosts. A bad wedding really comes down to bad planning on the part of couples that fail to understand that their guests are humans that want to enjoy a wedding, not endure a wedding.
