Gender reveal parties have been all over the news in the past decade or so, and rarely for good reasons. There was one that started a forest fire in California. There was one that resulted in a plane crash and the untimely demise of two people. There was another in Iowa that caused a wayward explosion. Someone even ended up with a dart lodged in their ankle after a failed reveal. Injury or death via gender reveal party has sadly and astoundingly become not that uncommon. So it follows that some expectant mothers are choosing not to celebrate this way. But that doesn't mean their family members got the memo.
