Some Venn diagrams are informative, and some are pure nonsense. Somewhere in the middle, right in that grey zone, sits this listicle, which is filled with very creative Venn diagrams that are equal parts accurate and ridiculous. To think that someone took the time and energy to make a complicated and intricate Venn diagram of Tim Curry roles that overlap between "smart," "sexy," and "scary" is pure genius. And how about the one that has "Incel" and "Excel" overlap as "Incorrectly assuming something is a date"? How clever is that?
Venn diagrams, popularized by John Venn in the 1880s, and used to show the logical relation between sets, are a wonderful tool for humor, showcasing how two unrelated topics can share very specific traits. For example, how serial killers and parents are the only ones who collect hair and teeth, or how if you put a beaver in one circle and a duck in the other, the overlap will be a platypus.
