I used to be a funny dude, I swear! I distinctly remember making people squirt their drinks out of their noses, holding their stomachs while bent over in laughter, and even begging me to stop cracking jokes because they were about to pee their pants. However, and I'm not making this up, ever since I became a dad, I have stopped being "the funny one" in our group of friends (now I'm somehow considered "the smart one"). I swear that on the same day I first became a father, all my jokes suddenly became corny and cringy.
And that's not all, I also started finding puns and dad jokes actually funny! I never found them funny, not just as a kid or a teenager, but even in my early 30s before my children were born. Did something change in my brain? Like, chemically? I mean, obviously my wife's body changed during the pregnancy, but I believe mine has too!
