I wasn't always a Lord of the Rings fan. For a long time, I was more into "Return of the Jedi" than "Return of the King." I was 7 years old when I saw "Return of the Jedi" in theaters, and I was immediately hooked. Then, something interesting happened at the turn of the century - the prequels came out, and I realized that Star Wars wasn't for me anymore - it was for the next batch of 7-year-old kids. However, at the same time, a different kind of trilogy came out; one that was much more mature and suited to my current taste - The Lord of the Rings.
Again, I got to experience it in all its cinematic glory at the theatre, and I was instantly hooked. I saw the theatrical version, then the extended versions, and after that, I started reading the books and learning as much as I could about the rich history and mythology of Middle-earth.
