What's in a name? Well, for this person, their coworker's name is causing them a weird amount of discomfort.
In most workplaces, you call your coworkers by their first name. There are certainly exceptions, like if your company is trying to appear fancy in front of clients or whatever. But for the most part, calling someone by their first name is very common in the US, and not seen as disrespectful or insensitive. But this guy's coworker has a request: she doesn't want to be called by her first name, she wants to be called Ms. [Last Name]. And for whatever reason, this guy won't do that.
Commenters were completely split on the issue. Many people called the original poster, u/Lucky-Object170, a big meanie for refusing to call his coworker by the name she requested. It isn't hard! And it seems like this guy is going out of his way to not call her by her title. Other people thought that neither person was in the wrong, and that it was a communication issue. And at least one person said this woman was not the right fit for the culture of the workplace.
After you check out the story for yourself, read about the former fast-food worker who got banned from the restaurant for confronting a woman who used to badger them all the time.
