There is so much tradition and rigamarole that goes into having a wedding. Not only in the ceremony, where most people follow arcane rituals of unveiling, escorting the bride, and using performative language to get it all done, but in the reception too. Recent tradition holds that you must have either a band or a DJ, offer a choice of either chicken or fish, and provide some booze to get the party going. But some couples are throwing these customs to the wayside in favor of something more personal. I'm all for making the ceremony your own, but what traditions are needed for the sake of others? Any?
