Boss cuts employee's hours in half without explanation, then calls him on his day off to cover a shift, employee ignores the calls: ‘’Why should I help you?'

There is nothing more annoying, and slightly terrifying, than to get a call from your boss when you are on your day off. The initial thought that goes through everyone's mind when they see their phone ringing and their boss's name lighting up the screen, is that they did something wrong. Then they are left to decide whether or not they should take the call and deal with whatever consequences are heading their way, or blatantly ignore it and enjoy their last few moments of being ignorant of what the boss wants. It will not be surprising to learn that most employees choose the latter option.

The employee in this Reddit story also chose to ignore his boss's calls, except he knew exactly why they were calling. After being mistreated for a long time in their job, including having their working hours cut in half with no explanation, OP (original poster), decided to take a few days off. Then, while on vacation, he gets texts and calls from his boss asking him to come and cover a shift. OP then decided he shouldn't help those who don't respect him, so he ignored the calls and gave their boss a little taste of their own medicine.
