Nerdy ladies - assemble!
If there is one thing that I love about the Harry Potter characters, is that there was never any separation between the wizards and the witches in terms of power and wisdom. Not once is it ever hinted either in the books or the movies that wizards and witches are being treated differently. Hermione is the smartest student in the school, Professor McGonagall is one of the most beloved teachers, and there are countless of extremely successful and smart witches that are a match to any wizard in the wizarding world – Lilly, Luna, Fluer, Molly, to name a few. Even the villain witches in the series are arguably much better at being villains than the wizards, take Umbridge and Bellatrix for example.
I simply love that in the world of Harry Potter, I never felt like being a woman was a disadvantage, which makes me appreciate the magic of that world even more.
