When couples fight about the little things, it's always really about something greater. No one is ever just mad about their partner leaving dishes in the sink. At the end of the day, they're ultimately upset because they feel like their boundaries, space, and rules have been ignored and therefore disrespected. 

Here, we have a couple who erupted into an argument over a bag of licorice, but really, both parties were just giving each other a hard time. Essentially, the boyfriend is known for detesting the brand of salty licorice that his girlfriend frequently purchases. One day, however, he demanded to have some of hers but she refused, since she knew it was not his cup of tea. He then decided to take the opportunity to make this about how his partner does not have the final say regarding what he does or does not like. Sure, this is true in theory, but really, can a girl just enjoy her own licorice and not have to share it?
