No matter where you work, there are going to be some parts of the job that absolutely nobody wants to do. If you work in a restaurant, for example, you have to do some of the same chores every single day. You'll need to sweep and mop the same floors, clean the same dishes, and wipe down the same tables over and over. It becomes a swirl of repeating tasks, one after another.
That's why when there's a new person on the job, the current employees and managers might take advantage of their willingness to do anything. The new person might not know how often they'll be mopping the floor, so when they're asked, they'll happily agree.
This manager seems like the kind of person who always wants other people to do the hard work. That's probably why they enlisted this young worker to do a ton of chores for them.
